Buttock Augmentation may be achieved through injections of your body fat (also known as lipofilling, fat grafting, or Brazilian Buttock Augmentation) or with solid silicone implants (Buttock Implants).

The best method for performing butt augmentation is fat grafting. Lipofilling (Brazilian Buttock Augmentation) uses your fat to augment buttock volume. The result of buttock augmentation with fat grafting is soft, fuller, and more shapely buttocks. Fat grafting has a much lower risk of infection, feels more natural, requires a much smaller incision to perform, has no chance of rejection, and improves the contour of other body areas where fat was harvested. Furthermore, buttock augmentation with implants requires a longer healing time, patients experience more pain, and the implant may move from its ideal position or may be rejected by the body. Nonetheless, silicone implants are recommended for patients who have little or no fat on their body to be used for buttock augmentation.

Buttock Augmentation with Fat Grafting (Brazilian Butt Lift)

Buttock enhancement with fat grafting, Brazilian Buttock Augmentation, is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. First, liposuction is used to harvest the patient’s fat from other parts of the body such as the abdomen, thighs, flanks, waist, and lower back through very small incisions. Liposuction will lead to improvement in the contour of these body areas as it will provide the fat for buttock augmentation. Buttock Augmentation with Silicone Implants

Buttock implants are made of soft silicone and they come in different shapes and sizes to best fit each individual’s anatomy. The Buttock Implant Plastic Surgery is performed under general anesthesia and it takes about two hours. The incision is placed in the depression between the buttocks. A pocket is dissected in the muscle of the buttock and the implant is placed. The incision is then closed. The Buttock implants are placed away from nerves. The result is a rounder, firmer butt.

Results

The results of buttock augmentation surgery are visible immediately, but it will take several weeks for the final results to fully develop. The outcome of buttock augmentation is a curvier, firmer, and younger-looking butt.

Recovery

Patients may experience mild to moderate discomfort, which can be controlled by oral medications. Patients will notice bruising and swelling for a few weeks after the procedure. Compression garments may be worn to reduce swelling and speed recovery.

Patients should avoid lying on their backs or sitting on their buttocks for two to three weeks after the surgery to optimize the results. Dr. Doumit will recommend that you avoid any strenuous activity and exercise for three weeks. Most patients return to work two weeks after buttock augmentation.

Safety

As with any surgery, there are risks to buttock augmentation. Possible complications from buttock augmentation include Infection, bruising, bleeding, asymmetry, numbness, and tightness.
