HOW IS JAW IMPLANT (MANDIBULAR ANGLE IMPLANT) SURGERY PERFORMED?
This operation is done under general anesthesia. It lasts about an hour or two. Mandibular (jaw) implants are inserted through incisions made inside the mouth on either side of the lower lip. The implants are fixed into position with one or two screws. The incision is then closed.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN RECOVERY OF MANDIBULAR AUGMENTATION?
Jaw implant do not cause much pain. Swelling and minor bruising is gone in 7 to 14 days. There is no scar, and all sutures will dissolve over 10 to 14 days.
WHAT RESULT CAN I EXPECT OF MANIDUBLAR ANGLE (JAW) AUGMENTATION?
The results of your jaw (mandibular) implant surgery are seen immediately following surgery. Cold compresses placed over both sides of the face every hour for fifteen minutes (while awake) will decrease swelling and bruising. Swelling following mandibular implant surgery will decrease significantly over the first week.
