Background

Dr Doumit grew up in Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec. After graduating cum laude from Ecole Secondaire De La Salle, he received his bachelor and medical degrees from the University of Ottawa. Dr Doumit then completed full general surgery training at the University of Ottawa (Ottawa, Canada), full plastic surgery training at Temple University Hospital (Philadelphia, United States), and craniofacial/aesthetic surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School (Boston, United States). Dr. Doumit received special training for surgery of the face and body to treat cosmetic concern. Dr. Doumit was invited to join in 2010 the world famous Cleveland Clinic hospital department of plastic surgery as director of craniofacial surgery. While there, Dr. Doumit had the privilege to successfully treat many complex cases that failed treatments at other major university hospitals in the United States and the world.

While at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr Doumit frequently operated on royalties. Dr. Doumit remained on staff at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation until 2020. Dr Doumit, along with his colleagues at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, performed two near full face transplant.
